Recap of the Important stuff...the rest is just what I call "fluff"!
Ricardo Morado appointed to the Cameron County Appraisal District Board of Directors.
Approved the allocation of CDBG-R funds (B-09-MY-48-0509) in the amount of $30,969.30 to supplement the Disaster Recovery (Contract #TX010021) Generators Project.
Tabled the San Benito Youth Stock Show Agreement. Apparently, they are not paying their bills to the city.
Motion by Commissioner Gonzalez to accept recommendations on correction(s) to the Veterans War Memorial Plaque from the Veterans Advisory Board DIED from the lack of a second to the motion.
After a two hour Executive Session discussing the Fire Chief and Police Chief, motion by Commissioner Elliott to proceed with the “Plan of Action” by the City Manager. Very vague motion so only the Commission and the City Manager know what “The Plan” constitutes.
Agenda Item 33 Consideration and action authorizing the City Manager to find funds utilizing longevity, incentives, work hours and any other benefits available in order to meet the required fund balance to end the fiscal year 2010-2011 sounded alarm bells in my head……
Apparently the City Manager projected a year-end “deficit” of roughly $140,000.
He received approval by the Commissioin to find additional revenues to avoid the projected deficit! I am curious to see where the City Manager will find those revenues!
